Dostamama — Ticimax to Shopify Migration

Dostamama is a pet food and supplies retailer running a deep catalogue — cat and dog food, litter, vitamins, bird seed, accessories — across several hundred SKUs with real variant complexity in bag sizes. The Ticimax platform it started on had become the ceiling: every campaign, every theme change and every integration meant working around the platform rather than with it.

The migration moved products, variants, categories, customers and order history to Shopify without data loss, then rebuilt the category tree so it matched how customers actually shop — by animal first, then by product type. URL structure was mapped deliberately so existing search rankings survived the move rather than being rediscovered from scratch.

What changed operationally is speed. Campaigns, free-shipping thresholds, coupon mechanics and theme work that used to require a platform ticket are now changes the team makes itself, in minutes.
